Frequently Asked Questions

What is an endorsed midwife?
To practice privately in Australia midwives must be 'endorsed' by our regulatory body, AHPRA. We must have a minimum of 5000 hours of practice and complete further study in prescribing and diagnostics. Once endorsed, midwives are able to order pathology tests and ultrasounds, prescribe medication as needed and offer clients medicare rebates.
Where do you service?
For now, I'm available for families living in the Maroondah, Manningham and Whitehorse districts. Living outside of these areas? Get in touch down below to discuss how we can work together.
Will you visit me at home for my appointments?
I sure will! The location of your visits is entirely up to you but would generally take place on your couch at home, where you're most comfy. Anyone you feel comfortable with is more than welcome to attend!
Do you offer birth support?
While my own little people are so young I'm just offering pregnancy and postpartum care. But birth is addictive, so watch this space!
What happens if I need you between visits?
Going down the Dr Google rabbit hole? We've all been there! After an initial in-person visit we have the benefit of being able to connect via telehealth, so get in touch if you have burning questions outside of your booked visits.
Do I need a referral?
No! Care can start from the moment you get your positive home pregnancy test, without the need for a GP referral. Depending on your health needs, we can work closely with your GP and/or chosen hospital care team.
